Fullerton College is designated a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (NCAE-CD), which means that it meets the highest standards for cybersecurity education. Using the Cyberbit platform raises the program’s maturity level and local and national awareness of it. The platform also helps the college meet its goal of providing students with the best possible cybersecurity education, so they are prepared for their careers in cybersecurity.
In the long term, Fullerton College envisions its cybersecurity program becoming a research and development hub with external industry firms and the Department of Defense and intends to use the Cyberbit platform to help it achieve this vision. The program will provide students with the skills and training they need to advance into apprenticeship or internship programs, while also providing a skilled workforce to organizations that have a demand for cyber talent. Courses cover a variety of topics, including forensics, network security, incident response, and more.
“We are excited about the future of cybersecurity and the role that Fullerton College will play in shaping it,” said Professor Anna Carlin, Executive Director of the Hornet Security Education Center at Fullerton College. “The enhanced cybersecurity program represents a significant advancement in our mission to equip students for 21st-century challenges by enabling them to acquire the competencies sought after by employers.”
